KtB Happenings – Ways to Get Involved!

Folks…  Things are movin’ here at Knit the Bridge.  Fall is in the air and people are reaching for their knitting needles.

We’ve got several great ways to connect to Knit the Bridge in the weeks ahead:

Wednesday, October 10th – We are so energized by everyone who’s been joining us in this crazy project.  We’re especially excited about our awesome Community Leaders who are coming out tonight for our 2nd Community Leaders Info Session and Meet Up!

Our last one was such a success.  We’re so impressed by the creative ideas our leaders have come up with to get their own communities involved in Knit the Bridge.  And if you have a great idea for a Knit the Bridge related activity/event and want to get support for it, there’s still time to attend tonight’s meeting (RSVP at knitthebridge@gmail.com). And come on down!

Thursday, October 11th – Here at KtB, we’re committed to reuse, especially when it comes to acrylic/synthetic yarn for our panels. Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse is an awesome place to pick up used brightly colored yarn and other knitting/crochet supplies. Plus, it’s a great place to hang out and get inspired.

Join Knit the Bridge tomorrow for PCCR’s montly Meet n’ Make.  Bring your in-progress panels, or come to learn how to get started!

Sunday, October 14th – Knit-In with Kitty from 11-4.  (Kitty’s in Lawrenceville on Main st. and wants you to know that she has several cute animals – in case they make you sneeze…)

Tuesday, October 16th – The Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh (the fiber fuel behind KtB) is having a Knit the Bridge Info Session.  Come to see a fancy presentation, ask questions, and meet other fiber artists from around the region.  The FGP is a great and inclusive community for anyone who just wants to celebrate fiber art.  You don’t have to consider yourself an Artiste to join!

Friday, October 19th – Knit-In on Beeler st.  Join the co-director of the Fiberart International 2013 in her home for a cozy knit and crochet gathering.  There will be warm drinks and sustenance.  It turns out this FI2013 director is an avid knitter and crocheter.  Apparently she’s already finished a panel! (RSVP at knitthebridge@gmail.com to attend)

Wednesday, October 24th – Drop by our weekly downtown meet up at 3G Gallery.  It’s an opportunity to find out more about stitching a panel or share your own panel’s progress.  (We’re itching to see them!)

And as always, look for more KtB events on our Calendar and let us know about your event so we can add it as well!
