Clean Out Your Closets, Donate to Help Knit the Bridge

Even if you don’t knit or crochet there are many important ways to help the Knit the Bridge effort!

Our current biggest need is black acrylic worsted weight yarn.

Clean out your old yarn and supplies!

We need yarn and other supplies.  Your donated yarn, needles, and hooks make Knit the Bridge accessible to anyone interested in participating.  We will collect your material donations and then divvy them out to school groups, community centers, and other individuals who have the skills and interest, but not the supplies.

Knit the Bridge has been working to establish donation drop-off points for yarn, knitting needles, and crochet hooks. Knit the Bridge accepts acrylic or synthetic yarns, knitting needles and crochet hooks, scissors. Please include your name, contact info, and neighborhood/township with your donations. We value each and every contribution and want to make sure that we include you and your neighborhood/township in our list of participants!

These drop-off points will also double as drop-off points for your completed bridge panels.  For all you extra-speedy makers, we are ready to accept your completed panels.  Please remember to label each and every panel.  This will help us map out the panels on the bridge so that you can easily find your work.

Completed panels must be labeled. Print out KtB Labels for Completed Panels

What about railings? Should they be labeled?

I’ve finished a railing and am ready to ship it Priority from Omaha. When I “click” on KtB Labels for Panels I get a 404 error message. I will add my own label, but what must it say? Also, since I need to mail it, which is the best place?
