With 586 Community-made blanket-like panels, we are close to approaching our 600 Panel Goal.
Some brave folks took on a whole panel. This was no small feat. Panels measure 34″ × 72″ in size – think single bed cover or over the sofa throw.
Other clever folks teamed up with a friend or family member. We’ve received several team panels from mothers and daughters of all ages.
Finally, the really clever folks joined up with a whole team of people like this kindergarten class who worked together on their panel part.
Knit the Bridge has had great participation from the age 6-17 set. To date we’re 286 kids strong… knitting, crocheting, weaving, joining, and finger knitting for the bridge.
And the local NPR station took a closer look at how teenage boys on the Northside have been involved in KtB: http://wesa.fm/post/meet-teen-boys-who-will-help-knit-andy-warhol-bridge#.UcrStpI2SC0.facebook
Thanks to the many young stitchers who have helped make this possible!
